Universal Shredding trucks carry a commercial hammer mill shredder, certified by the National Association of Information Destruction. The hammer mill tears pieces of paper into pieces so small they fit through a screen that has holes that are just 3/8 of an inch in size. You wouldn’t be able to read a single letter – let along put something back together. We can even provide a smaller screen that is used for customers like the FBI or Boeing. This is a more expensive process but the final product is basically powder. Other shredders that grind paper between plates are also approved, but small pieces of paper, like a check, can drop through without being shredded. This is unacceptable to TNT Shreding and they will only use a hammer mill shredder because they want you to be completely safe.
